Read some of the settlements and verdicts that Edgar Snyder & Associates has received for our clients:

Passenger on motorcycle injured

Our client, a passenger on a motorcycle, was injured when a tractor trailer pulled out into the path of the motorcycle. When the tractor trailer pulled out in front of the motorcycle, the driver of the bike took evasive action and in doing so, laid the bike down. As a result, our client sustained a crushed heel. This accident occurred in Blair County.

The case was settled out of court.

Motorcycle driver severely injured at blind intersection

Our client, a man in his late forties, was riding his motorcycle home from work at night. He came around a curve to a blind intersection where a car pulled out and hit our client throwing him off the motorcycle approximately 60 feet. As a result, our client sustained massive internal injuries as well as multiple fractures.

This case was settled before trial.

Motorcyclist killed in rear-end collision

Our attorney represented the family of a motorcycle driver who was rear-ended in an accident. Unfortunately, this accident resulted in the death of the motorcycle driver.

The case occurred in Blair County PA. A settlement was reached before trial.

Motorcyclist dies after hitting a love seat

Our attorney represented the family of a motorcyclist who was killed on the turnpike late at night. The motorcyclist struck a love seat that had fallen off of a pickup truck, lost control of his motorcycle, and crashed.

The state police alerted all the toll booths with information on what the furniture looked like. When the pickup truck exited the turnpike, the driver was identified.

A settlement requiring no litigation was awarded to our clients.

Settlement reached for motorcyclist injured by tractor trailer making wide turn

Our client, a motorcyclist, was injured when a tractor-trailer driver took a wide turn, blocked our client's lane, and forced him to squeeze around the truck on the berm. He was injured when he was forced to leave his lane to avoid hitting the truck and subsequently struck a van behind the truck.

Our lawyers reached a settlement at a mediation while awaiting trial. Although the motorcycle never made contact with the tractor-trailer, the bulk of the settlement was paid by the freight company who employed the tractor-trailer driver.

"I Thought I was Dead"

It was nearly 7:30 a.m. -- a time when most people are getting ready for work. John Lyons* , however, was riding his motorcycle on his way home after the third shift at the assembly plant. Suddenly, an oncoming truck veered to turn left into a convenience store parking lot cutting John off. "He just didn't see me," said the Erie, Pa., resident.

Blocked by telephone poles to his right and rush hour traffic on his left, John had no choice but to run into the side of the truck. He was thrown through the bike's windshield and then run over by the truck. "The driver pulled into the store lot like nothing had happened," he recalls. When police found the driver in the store, he was calling for a tow truck because the impact had flattened two of the truck's tires.

John endured 20 days in the hospital, four operations, and one year of recuperation, including two months for a skin graft. The driver disappeared after giving the police a fake Ohio insurance card.

Fortunately, he had purchased an insurance policy with Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage. However, it would have been tough to foresee the twists and turns the case took, prompting him to seek the advice of a lawyer.

"My insurance adjuster said I didn't need a lawyer, but it was worth the peace of mind," he says. "With all of the other things going on at the time, it was good to feel that my interests were being protected."

Today, he walks with a limp and says his "dancing days are over." But his cycling days aren't. He just bought a new motorcycle, and is volunteering his time with Operation Save-a-Life to promote motorcycle safety awareness.
